Summary:
In this paper rhyming is considered as an important pedagogical
aid that gives pleasure to young learners of EFL and helps
language instructors create a relaxing atmosphere in the
classroom. Our main concern will be directed towards rhymes as a
material for teaching which brings enjoyment into the classroom
through pleasant sensory images, beautiful words and subtle
descriptions. By applying the teaching technique of rhyming
teachers enter the children’s world of images on one side and on
the other bring an effective stimulus challenging a greater
impact on the learning process. Òî understand the role of
rhyming and implementing rhymes in the young learners’
curriculum of EFL, basic methodological principles through the
topic approach will be discussed in the paper. The author will
show her great support for the advocates of the topic approach
after the investigation has been undertaken among the learners
of the Little Children Academy in Belgrade. Rhyming can be fun
is an interactive activity based on the analyzed language
teaching principles.
